My Specialities & Services

Thoughtful psychotherapy for meaningful change.

Wellness

For clients ready to take a proactive step in their well-being, wellness bridges the gap between mental and physical health. Grounded in the philosophy that movement is medicine, coaching sessions integrate exercise science, mindfulness, and behavior-change strategies. The goal is to help you develop sustainable routines that improve energy, mood, and overall quality of life.

Psychotherapy

A safe, supportive space to work through anxiety, depression, life transitions, men’s issues, burnout, and grief. Together, we’ll focus on building resilience, cultivating self-awareness, and creating lasting change through personalized counseling.

Insurance is accepted through BCBS PPO, Cigna, Aetna, United, and Medicare,  so you can focus on your healing, not just the logistics.

Embodied Connections

Advances community-integrated lifestyle medicine throughout the Chicagoland area by creating small-group wellness experiences that help people connect with themselves, one another, and their communities. Our mission is to strengthen connection, resilience, and collective well-being across Chicago.

My Approach

Most people don’t come to therapy because life is easy. They come because their thoughts will not slow down, their energy feels unsteady, or their coping habits are not actually bringing relief. On the outside, they might look fine, but inside it feels heavy, lonely, or stuck. If this is you, I want you to know you do not have to carry it all alone.

Connection is at the heart of my work. Therapy with me is a space where your emotions are safe, your story is honored, and your struggles are met with curiosity, not judgment. Together, we will explore the roots of what is weighing on you, whether that is unresolved grief, anxiety, depression, ADHD, compulsive behaviors, or relational wounds. I draw from a family systems perspective to understand how early attachment experiences still echo in the present, and I integrate mindfulness to help you gently loosen the grip of self-criticism and discover a steadier sense of presence.

The body also plays an important role in healing. Therapy can stir up old wounds, and learning to regulate the nervous system is part of the process. While I offer separate wellness practices at BodyUp Counseling such as contrast therapy and meditation retreats, you do not need to do those to benefit here. Counseling itself is a place to leave feeling more grounded, clear, and connected to yourself and others.

My style is relaxed and authentic. I do push for insight, but more importantly, I invest in building a genuine and reliable relationship with you. I believe people come to therapy to feel understood, to rediscover their truth, and to leave with hope.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I have to do all three services to work with you?

No. Each service stands on its own. Some people come only for counseling, others for retreats or contrast therapy. You choose what fits your needs.

2. What insurance do you accept for counseling?

I currently accept BCBS PPO Illinois for counseling sessions. Wellness offerings such as meditation retreats and contrast therapy are self-pay and not billed to insurance.

3. Is counseling virtual or in-person?

Counseling sessions are offered virtually for your convenience. This makes it easier to attend regularly, no matter where you are in Illinois.

4. What can I expect at a half-day meditation retreat?

These four-hour retreats combine guided meditation, mindful movement, breath awareness, and reflective silence. They’re designed to help you step away from distractions and leave feeling more grounded, present, and clear. No prior experience is needed.

5. What is your style as a therapist?

Clients describe me as relaxed, authentic, and easy to connect with. I focus on creating a safe and supportive space where you can feel understood and not judged. I’ll encourage insight and growth while honoring your pace.
